One of the first items of business after you move into your new apartment home might be to meet and greet with your neighbors. You never know, you may need someone to watch over your pets or your apartment home while your from town. However , you may also want to prevent your neighbors at all costs. So for anyone who is friends with them or distance yourself from them?
Be Friends First
You should at first attempt to be somewhat friendly with your neighbors. When you pass by them in the hallways make an attempt to at least say hello or make some conversation. Your own neighbors can be extremely helpful if your aside and you need them to do something for you personally. They may be able to just grab your mail or let the cable man in if you can’ t get home in time. So its best that you stay friendly with them if you can.
If you don’ t pass by them in the hallways simply stop by and knock at their door and introduce yourself. This will give you the opportunity to ask about house noise or anything that you should be aware of. Maybe the landlord is hard to reach and they have his/her cell phone. And remember that if you see them while your collecting your mail to say hi. Wave at them in the parking great deal etc .
If you have great neighbors and you get along that’ s great. But remember that even good neighbors and friends have disputes. Maybe they will throw loud parties or earning so much noise that it disturbs you. Either way neighbors can have disputes. Consider you will be living next to them for the purpose of at least a short time, be sure to stay on great terms with your neighbors. You never understand when you might need something from them. Plus they might come knocking on your doorway for a favor.
But at a bar minimum make sure you introduce yourself and say hi. Make your face familiar so that they know who you are. Its always fine to have friends in an unfamiliar location.
